SCOUTING REPORT: Talented big man who could emerge as one of the top centers in the Big 12 Conference...huge frame makes him a formidable force in the point...has the ability to dominate the boards...has an effective hook shot as well as a good short-range jumper...also has shown the ability to drop an occasional three-pointer...averaged 10.8 points and 12.2 rebounds on the Italy tour in August.
2002-03 (JUNIOR): Played in just 14 games because of injury and suspension…averaged 5.6 points and 5.6 rebounds…missed seven Big 12 games for disciplinary reasons…posted three straight double-figure scoring games at the end of the season, averaging 14.0 points and 7.3 rebounds in than span…had a double-double against Iowa State in the Big 12 Tournament, scoring 14 points with 11 rebounds…scored a season-high 18 points with seven rebounds against Baylor, making 7-of-10 from the field…missed first seven games after undergoing back surgery in late October…scored 10 points with 11 rebounds against Mississippi Valley…had nine rebounds at Nebraska and followed with eight at Texas.
2001-02 (SOPHOMORE): Played in 23 games, starting in 14 … averaged 6.8 points and a team-best 6.4 rebounds … averaged 7.3 points and a whopping 8.5 rebounds in Big 12 play, which would have ranked fourth in the league if he had played enough games … missed eight league games after suffering broken left hand early in Texas Tech game … scored a career-high 22 points with a career-best 14 rebounds against Oklahoma … posted three double-doubles … had 13 rebounds in victory against Purdue … posted five double-figure rebounding games and seven double-figure scoring games.
2000-01 (SOPHOMORE/REDSHIRT): Suffered shoulder injury lifting weights prior to fall practice … later had surgery to insert two screws in his left shoulder and missed entire season.
1999-00 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in 27 games, starting in 14 … averaged 4.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game … averaged 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in Big 12 play … missed Big 12 Tournament with mononucleosis … scored in double figures in four games (in nine-game stretch to end season) … scored a season-high 14 points with six rebounds against Texas and All-American Chris Mihm … in Texas game in College Station, limited Mihm to just 12 points and six rebounds … scored 10 points against Baylor, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech … posted a season-high eight rebounds against Oklahoma State… showed ability to shoot from long range, making 4-of-10 three-point attempts.
